Wondering what the process is or what information you’ll need to apply? Find those answers below.
Step 1: Create an Account
This page will ask you to create an account with us. It asks for only basic information such as:
- Your name
- Email address
- Telephone number
- State (use the drop-down box that matches the location of the property you are purchasing or refinancing)
After clicking “submit” on the account registration page, a question will appear asking you which of our mortgage lenders you want to work with throughout the application process. A name and picture of those available will appear. Please select the person you’ve been working with up to this point. If you haven’t spoken with anyone yet, select a name from the list and they will be alerted via email.
Step 2: Fill Out the Application
After you have established an account, the next step is to choose a purpose for your loan. The page will present you with two options, purchase or refinance. Click on the one applicable to you and click next. Once you do, you will be prompted to enter the following information:
- Zip code
- Purchase price of property or an estimate if you have not yet located a property
- The dollar figure or percentage of the purchase price you intend to apply as a down payment
- Yes or no questions regarding whether you are a military veteran or want to learn more about an adjustable rate loan from our mortgage lenders
The question on the next page will ask if you are married. If so, answer whether you are applying for the loan with or without your spouse. If you’re applying jointly, you will need to provide your spouse’s name and contact information. The next page will confirm if you are applying with any person other than a spouse.
Moving along to the next page, you will enter your birthdate, primary address and mailing address if different, and the type of property you intend to purchase/refinance. You will also need to check a box acknowledging that you are providing true and correct information of your own free will and that you give BrightPath permission to access your credit report.
The last page of the application starts by asking how you will occupy the property. Your mortgage lender also needs the information:
- Total income
- Total expenses
- Proposed expenses for homeowner’s insurance, real estate taxes, mortgage insurance, and homeowner association fees
After clicking the next button, the application will take you to a page to review everything before submitting it to BrightPath.
Step 3: We’ll Contact You
The loan officer you chose in the first part of the application will review your information and contact you if he or she needs clarification on anything. Next, the loan officer will verify income and request a copy of your credit report. He or she will use this information to determine if you qualify for the loan amount you are requesting. You should receive a call within about 20 minutes to let you know the status and what to do next if approved. Please contact us with additional questions before or while completing these steps.
